Located on the south-eastern tip of Menorca is the small village resort of S'Algar. This purpose built modern resort is perfect for families or couples looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday.  Although there is no beach to speak of, there are some rock terraces for sunbathing. S'Algar is one of the main centres on Menorca for scuba diving and snorkelling and boasts some of the most spectacular diving experiences in the Mediterranean.  Imagine diving into crystal clear waters and exploring a plethora of underwater caves and caverns with visibility up to 50m and you will understand why this part of Menorca is a magnet for diving enthusiasts.

A short distance from S'Algar is the popular resort of Cala Alcaufar. Here you will find a small sandy beach sheltered by cliffs surrounding the cove.  This beach area is especially safe for young children as the white sand shelves gently to the sea. The cove is overlooked by fishermen's cottages and provides an idyllic backdrop to this beautiful, quiet resort. Cala Alcaufar has modern facilities with a number of bars and restaurants while the night time entertainment is mainly centred around the hotels. It is a short drive to the town of Sant Lluis, while the capital, Mahon, is around 6 miles away.

There is regular bus service from S’Algar and Cala Alcaufar to Mahon, from where it is possible to explore the rest of Menorca.  While it is not necessary, consideration should be given to hiring a car for at least part of your stay in S’Algar or Cala Alcaufar to get the most out of your time in Menorca.
