Santo Tomas is a small, quiet, purpose built resort midway between Son Bou and Cala Galdana, on the south coast of Menorca, that has become a firm favouite with British holidaymakers. It is mainly a tourist area and this is reflected in the fact that the local population numbers less than 60!
There are two beaches split by a rocky headland and backed by sand dunes. The clear turquoise water and warm shelving, soft, white sand make the beach ideal for children, although it can become choppy if a south wind starts to blow! The beach at Santo Tomas can be accessed from a large, convenient car park that has a welcoming beach bar in its grounds.
The main hotels are located on a promenade that runs along the length of the resort and it is here that you will find a few shops and supermarkets. Most of the entertainment and restaurants are hotel based and, therefore, choice can be limited. Santo Tomas is popular with older couples or families looking for a relaxing holiday.
Transfer time from the airport to Santo Tomas is about 40 minutes and while there is a reasonable bus service to Mahon, if you want to explore the rest of Menorca, a car would be a distinct advantage.
